If you’ve come to this website, there is a good chance that you are trying to find a lawyer, and looking for a lawyer usually means you are facing some major life or business decisions. This isn’t a decision you should make lightly, so here are a few questions that I anticipate you may have about Youd Legal when making your decision.

01

How do you pronounce Youd?

It rhymes with “loud” or “cloud.”

(You’d not be the first pronounce it like “you’d”)

02

Do I need to come to Monroe to meet you?

No! I set up shop in Monroe because it is centrally located for me to serve the legal market in Central and Southern Utah. We live in an increasingly connected world and my virtual law office is designed to take advantage of that. If a matter can be taken care of over the phone or video chat, that saves time and adds savings to the cost of my services. But I am also happy to come meet you in your home, your place of business, or over lunch.

What kind of services does Youd Legal offer?

Our main areas of practice are estate planning and business services.

Specifically, our estate planning practice works with you to plan for the future by drafting important legal documents such as wills, living trusts, advanced healthcare directives, and power of attorneys. While nobody wants to think about their own potential disabilities or death, everybody should have a plan in place.

Our business services tap into my experience as a business undergraduate and human resources professional combined with my legal education. I want to work with you to help you form a business, draft and understand business contracts, and draft employee handbooks that will protect your company’s future.

Why should I choose you instead of a larger firm that has been around longer?

Again, the decision of who you want to represent you is one that you should take seriously. But here are some reasons that you should consider working with me.

First, because I am a solo practitioner, you have my undivided attention. When you call the number on the website, it rings directly to me. You won’t be passed off to assistants or other attorneys in the office who aren’t familiar with your individual situation.

Second, I price my services competitively. Overhead costs are lower than they may be at a larger firm and I strive to pass those savings onto you through affordable and transparent pricing.

Finally, as an attorney, I am required by ethical rules to provide you with competent representation. This means that if you approach me with a job that is beyond my capabilities, I will either refer you to another attorney or, with your consent, reach out to another firm to partner with me on the job.

05

How much will this cost me?

In law school, I learned that the right answer to most legal questions is “it depends!” In seriousness, the best way to determine what it will cost you is to meet with me (at no cost) to discuss what you are looking to accomplish. From there I will draft a letter that will describe the scope and goals of our working relationship and will provide a transparent estimate of the cost to achieve those goals.
